What is incompetent cervix diagnosis ?

An incompetent cervix also called a cervical insufficiency, occurs when weak cervical tissue causes or contributes to premature birth or the loss of an otherwise healthy pregnancy.

Blighted Ovum

A blighted ovum, also called an anembryonic pregnancy, occurs when an early embryo never develops or stops developing, is reasorbed and leaves an empty gestational sac.

Molar Pregnancy

A molar pregnancy occurs when an egg and sperm join incorrectly at fertilization and a noncancerous tumor forms instead of a healthy placenta. The tumor, or mole, cannot support a developing embryo, and the pregnancy ends. It is also called a hydatidiform mole.

Ectopic Pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilized egg attaches somewhere else in your body, usually in your fallopian tube — that’s why it’s sometimes called “tubal pregnancy.”

Ectopic pregnancies can also happen on your ovary, or somewhere else in your belly.

Miscarriage 

A miscarriage is the spontaneous loss of a fetus before the 20th week of pregnancy. 

 

Second Trimester Pregnancy Loss

Spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus before it is viable and especially between the 12th and 28th weeks of gestation.

Stillbirth

The birth of an infant that has died in the womb (strictly, after having survived through at least the first 28 weeks of pregnancy) OR  the death or loss of a baby before or during delivery.

Transvaginal Cerclage 

A surgical procedures in which synthetic suture or tape is used to reinforce the cervix

Transabdominal Cerclage (TAC) 

 A surgical procedure to treat cervical insufficiency. A suture is placed around the cervix at its uppermost part near the transition with the uterine body.
